Our products
Most of all Castellinuzza means Chianti Classico, but also trebbiano, rosato of Sangiovese, Vinsanto, extra virgin olive oil, wine vinegar and grappa. Enjoy our wines and buy them in our shop.

Chianti Classico
DOCG
Sangiovese with Canaiolo and Black Malvasia (5%) aged for a year in steel tanks and successively one more year in big oak barrels which contain 22Hl. It smells like small red fruits and flower bouquets. It results fresh and sapid at tasting with vibrating tannins and a sustained acidity. It’s perfectly matched with cold cuts, first courses with ragu and second courses of grilled meats. If it’s served fresh you can serve with light “brodetto” (fish broth) or Cacciucco (stewed fish).

Chianti Classico Riserva
DOCG
It’s a selection of the best Sangiovese grapes with Canaiolo and black Malvasia (5%) and it’s aged for a year in steel tanks and successively for the other two in big oak barrels which contain 22Hl. The flavours are intense and the wine smells like ripe red fruits, underwood and spices. The sip is round although it keeps itself fresh and sapid. It’s matched with cold cuts and aged cheese, first courses and red meat cooked on the grill.

Chianti Classico
Gran Selezione DOCG
It’s produced only in the best years with grapes selected during the harvest. It’s a selection of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Black Malvasia (2%) and after the wine-making it’s aged for three years in big oak barrels which contain 22Hl. The perfumes are intense, with marks of ripe red fruits, menthol and accentuated spiciness. The sip is large and enveloping, whit soft and refined tannins. It’s matched with aged cheese, roast, braised and game.

Trebbiano
It’s a blunt and fragrant white wine which comes from the historical Castellinuzza vineyard, a selection of tuscan Trebbiano grapes refined in steel. The perfumes remind us of flower fields with flavour of green and golden apple. It results fresh and sapid with a mineral final at tasting. It’s perfectly matched with all fish dishes, slightly seasoned cheeses or white meat. It’s good also as aperitif.

Rosato
It’s a Sangiovese vinificated in white to make a rosé that plays between the freshness of a white wine and the structure of a red wine. The smell is a jubilation of cherry, pomegranate and violet flavours. The sip results hot, enveloping and good balanced in the mouth. It gives a good acidity which makes it pleasing at the palate. It’s a wine that is good if it is served with all types of dishes during summer days.

Vino Santo
It’s realized with a selection of Trebbiano and Malvasia hung in order to dry out for a few months. The grape is also removed from the stalk, pressed and put in small oak barrel in order to ferment for a long time and age. The taste of dried fruits, honey and aromatic grass invites a full, sweet and enveloping sip. We produce a few bottles a year.

Extra Virgin
Olive Oil
We use only olives of centenary olive trees. They are manually picked when they are still green and immediately pressed to produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The color is a strong green and the taste is intense, fruity, a little spicy and it has a light and tasteful bitter flavour in the final. There are also features of vegetables such as artichoke and almond. Suitable for raw condiment, it intensifies all types of Tuscan dishes and it’s excellent to exalt soups.

Grappa
of Chianti
It’s a Grappa which is realised thanks to the distillation of fresh Sangiovese skin grapes. It has an enveloping and strong perfume which also has marks of red berries and a final that smells like ribes, cherries and sweet spices. It’s particularly soft and good if it is tasted with dark chocolate and spiced patisserie.

Wine
Vinegar
The Chianti Classico wine vinegar is homemade and it’s produced following the ancient Tuscan tradition and adding our wine to the compost, which we call “Madre” (mother), and which we preserve and we jealously hand down from one generation to another. It’s a rich, soft and perfumed vinegar and it’s excellent to dress seasonal salad and exalt their flavour and freshness.
